Job Description Summary: The R&D Food Technologist will be assigned projects related to bench-top development, as well as pilot test runs. He/she will work on the bench to provide prototype samples, and will assist in transitioning lab made prototypes to scale-up and commercial execution. Development of new products, as well as improvements of existing items will be the primary focus of the position. Analytical-related projects will also be assigned. Other R&D-related tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Qualifications: • Must have knowledge and be able to apply scientific principles for commercially-viable products. • Must be able to conduct food science experiments. • Must be proficient in food science technologies. • Must be able to work independently or in a group on multiple projects. • Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel. • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Educational Background: • BS/MS Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, or other related field. • Culinary background a plus.  • Previous employment in a food manufacturing or consumer product company a plus.

Working Hours: Full-time.

Physical Demands: The position requires employee to regularly talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, taste and smell. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to frequently lift/and or move 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move 30 pounds.
