[size=+0]My friend has sent me this new free service that he learned from technical news. That 712 area code number can route all US phones to Taiwan or China phones for free. The only catch is that it's an Iowa number. So from Dallas to Iowa would be long distance, UNLESS we use VOIP like "SunRocket" (unlimited domestic calls) or use cell phone's nights and weekends minutes. My family has used this way to call me when I was in Taiwan. I have been using this instruction from my cell phone to make the phone calls to Taiwan as well to let them know I arrived safely. Thought I will pass on to you to take advantage to call your relative overseas.
Instruction:
1. Call 712-858-8883
2. At the prompt, press 1 for English
3. Then punch in 011, the country code and the phone number. That's it. The call rings through immediately
Note: since this free international call routes through an Iowa phone number, you would want to use Sunrocket based (unlimited domestic call) VOIP service or use cell phone's free nights and weekends minutes.
