University Police Advisory on Recent Series of Auto Burglaries

University police announced today that students and employees should take precautions when leaving their vehicles in Hayward campus parking lots, and issued descriptions of two suspects who may have been responsible for a series of automobile burglaries.

Campus police have had reports of five auto burglaries in the last four days by a pair of suspects.  Witnesses describe the suspects as Hispanic, 23 to 25 years old. One is approximately 200 pounds and the other is of a smaller stature.  In the first occurrence, both of the suspects were wearing gray sweatshirts and one wore a white baseball cap.  They fled the scene in a compact-to-midsized white vehicle.

The vehicle break-ins were accomplished by smashing car windows to steal stereo equipment.

Students and employees should be observant of suspicious activity and report any suspicious vehicle or persons matching the suspects' descriptions cruising the parking lots.

The university's emergency police number should be programmed into cell phones: (510) 885-3333.  Otherwise, persons calling 9-1-1 may end up going through dispatch centers for the California Highway Patrol or the Hayward Police Department before making it to the Cal State East Bay police.

Students and employees should remove all items from vehicles, whether they are thought to be valuable or not. Persons with removable stereos or stereo "face plates" should remove them prior to heading to offices or classrooms. Removed items should not be placed into the trunk of a vehicle when arriving at the place of destination.  This should be done prior to arriving at the location and parking the vehicle. Stereos and other items removed after arrival on campus should be taken with you and securely stored in an office or other location.

好恐怖阿........還是不要晚上在學校停車好了.....

這樣看起來 下個學期開學後 會很危險喔  GPS要200-300 美金  不過算一算 停車證也要50多塊  要不要把停車證也收起來  <---laugh
