感恩 ! 想詢問有關 school to school 轉學的問題和幫忙

各位 SJSU 的同學大家好,

我叫 Chien.
目前就讀於 Academy of Art University 的 Under Graphic Design major,
因為想要轉到 SJSU 的 Graphic Design major,
但實在苦無人可以詢問,
剛剛有打去 IPS office 問, 可是服務人員說的很模糊
所以想請教各位 SJSU 的同學前輩們
可以方便指導相關流程一下嗎 ?
或是有其他方法可以跟 IPS office 的 advisor 洽談呢 ?

You need to talk to adviser from Student Service Center located at San Fernando and 10th (NOT the IPS) about the transferring.

Hi, I am in the A/I Major, so I knows most of the stuffs from the Art Program in SJSU. Adviser from Student Service won't really give you much help regarding your major, they really only dealing with GE coures. Most likely you would need to talk to an adviser from the Graphic Design department, however, they probably are not in the school during the summer. I guess the best way is to email them for now.

look for the email from a professor, becaue they are probably your adviser too; the lecturer only teach and don't really deal with transfer students.

You could find some of the classes that is required for your major in case you are wondering.

airhsieh is right. But when I transferred to SJSU I did need to first clear most GE courses at student service center.
Then of course you need to talk to your academic adviser which I forgot to mentioned.
However not every academic adviser will talk to pre-admitted students so be aware.

in your case, Yes, academic adviser = adviser from the Graphic Design department.
I'm not familiar with your department but you may try both kinds of adviser (student service center & academic)

If you click on the name of the professors of the fist link I give you, you would get to a new page where you can find the email of the professor. You can still call the art department, but you would probably get an adviser form the Fine Art department to talk to you. They could give you a general idea of the program and could be somewhat helpful, but the best way is still try to talk to an adviser from you major. Again, most likely they would not be in during the summer but you can still try. Get a copy of your unofficial transcript they know what you would need to take in SJSU. As far as I know, they were lots of transfer students from AA to SJSU, so people from the art departments should be fairly familiar with the classes you already took.
for the second link that has the major forms for your porgram, but it is probably outdated, so if you goning to come dowe to San Jose, you can just grap one from the office in the art building, but make sure that it is open.
