I am now curious about your reading list ...

The textbooks I suggest just are "Chinese" (Jerry Norman) & Li& Thompsom's. But I combine them with my supplement materials. But I feel that I am taking a risk for adventure within that short time to my objectives, even I taught these courses more than twelve years.

It sounds more like that you are giving 'An Introduction to Chinese Language Family Structure in All Aspects'...

It also depends on which year are you teaching...

Sorry if you feel offended... I am not here to tell you what to do or anything likewise.

I live in France, I have never studied in the US.  In France, any of the subjects I mentioned in my second post can be a  program for an entire  semester even a year or more.

The reason I arise so many questions was just .wondering which apects will you emphasize...  Since you are reluctant to reveil it... I won't force you.

My curiousity ends here!
