The H-1B cap has been reached for fiscal year 2011. Fiscal year is defined as the 365 day period of time that the Government uses for all Federal and Fiscal operations. The fiscal year 2011 started on October 1, 2010 and will end on September 30, 2011. The Fiscal Year 2012 will start on October 1, 2011 and will end on September 30, 2012.

Your next opportunity to apply for H-1B starts on April 1, 2011 and you can start working under your approved H-1B visa on October 1, 2011.
